Departure Lounge

Departure Lounge

A carry-on capsule that survives a long travel day: what to wear, what to layer, and what stays in the bag.

Airport days ask one thing of an outfit: it has to work from the taxi to the gate and still look like you chose it. Three pieces are enough when each one earns its place.

Start with the layer you can remove

The outer layer does the heavy lifting. It should come off easily, fold into a bag without creasing, and carry the whole look on its own once the shirt underneath is visible.

Keep the base neutral

A plain shirt in cotton or linen reads calm in every terminal, and it works again at dinner with nothing more than a change of shoe.

Let one piece carry the colour

Denim or a warm neutral trouser gives the outfit its shape. Everything else can stay quiet around it.

The full capsule, with the exact pieces and where to find them, is below.
